Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
This program provides summer meals to students in some of the most poverty-ridden communities in our service area. The program is funded through a United States Department of Agriculture Grant, and is partnered with a USDA Rural Transportation Grant. Together, the two grants provide reimbursement costs for food and travel, allowing us to deliver daily meals to selected sites where the children can come for a meal. Sites range from Boys and Girls Clubs and day care programs to parks and libraries. SFSP provides meals to children when they do not have access to the meals provided to them during the school year through the School Breakfast and Lunch Programs.
FREE Lunch during the summer for kids!
The West Texas Food Bank is providing a free meal to kids under the age of 18 at participating sites.
