Jacqueline, her husband, and their two kids — Matthew, 2, and Anna Maria, 7 — enjoy playing at the park and walking on trails together. The family's outdoor adventures are fueled by healthy foods like fruit, chicken and beans that Jacqueline has been bringing home since discovering the West Texas Food Bank's mobile pantry in Odessa.
Jacqueline's husband works as a truck driver, and she takes care of the children full-time because of the prohibitive cost of childcare. The couple dreams of owning their own trucking company someday and buying a house for their children to grow up in. Until that dream becomes a reality, their single income doesn't always stretch far enough to afford enough healthy food.
Thankfully, Jacqueline can supplement the family's grocery budget by visiting the mobile pantry.
"This place is really good for the family because it helps us a lot with food," Jacqueline says. "With food, any kind of help is beneficial."
On behalf of West Texas families like Jacqueline's, thank you for your generosity which helps ensure our neighbors have somewhere to turn for healthy food this holiday season and into the new year.
